Totally free resources from OXFAM
There are so many reasons why children should learn about the world around them - what is really happening and perhaps what they can do to help.
After spending just a few minutes looking at the resources available on the OXFAM website, I realised how good they are - but (perhaps more importantly) I realised that teachers have a responsibilty far beyond passing tests and teaching basic skills. Of course we all know that - but sometimes we need reminding.
The resources here will engage the children and encourage them to think critically about real issues. Surely this will help them develop as both individuals and as learners.
