Totally free geography resources from Ordance Survey
The Ordance Survey website is packed with lots of really useful resources and fun interactive activites.
As well as quizzes and games which could be used at the start or the end of a lesson, there are videos / activities related to various aspects of map reading. You can make a set of cards to help learn the OS symbols and even download the whole of the UK so that it can be explored using Minecraft - although this does look a bit more involved.
It is, however, the range of maps available that makes the OS site really stand out. Do you want a map of the UK, Great Britain or Europe? Do you want the counties or countries labelled? In my experience, these can be tricky to find and they are all available here for you to download and print.
